Mr. ******
Re meeting of August 13/03 between Murphy Oil [****** and ******] and ****** and myself.
It is my understanding from your letters and phone calls that Murphy Oil would seriously like to settle this issue and move on.
I have a strong gut feeling that what is said out here in the field and what gets back to you are not necessarily the same thing. This has been brought up before with what ****** has said to me and how it was changed when it got to you.
I want you to know that when ****** was out here on Aug 13/03 he referred to the issues in question as extortion, said that Murphy was not paying any more money, said he would bring in the authorities if required and I can get myself a lawyer.
I was sincerely hoping after the meeting with ****** that maybe Murphy Oil would be genuinely concerned about settling the issue but now I don’t believe this to be true.
If ******, as a representative of Murphy Oil is expressing your opinions, it is very unfortunate that I have to say that this meeting was of regression. From the expectations of the letters I received from you, I was very disappointed in the attitude expressed by ******.
Copies of this letter will also be sent to:

Note: Murphy president agreed we were not making progress. I have no documentation of, nor have I ever received even a verbal suggestion that would address any of my concerns, that in turn could lead to progress.
