Re: Murphy Oil lease on SW 21 42 3 W5. This is to advise you that there are problems with this lease and pipeline that need to be addressed.
Listed in brief are some of the concerns:
The pipeline reclamation is a disgrace, which the enclosed pictures will show.
****** phoned me on June 15/02 and said the reclamation would begin on or about June 24/02 and that he would be getting in contact with me as we got closer to that date to see what needed to be done.
****** never did show up. Talking with ****** of Octane Energy, ******told me ****** had inspected the pipeline reclamation and was pleased with it. Please re-look at the pictures to see what he was pleased with. The only person to ask me about the reclamation was ****** from Octane Energy and he knows we [my neighbours and I] are not pleased with their work. ***** left saying he has done all he is going to do and he would be contacting ****** I haven’t heard from either one since.
The lease site is to be cleaned, roto-tilled and re-seeded to pasture. None of this has been done. The site is a mess and the thistles and hemp nettle are going to seed. Thistles along lease road have also gone to seed. To get effective weed control after they have spread their seeds is like flogging a dead horse. Weeds are supposed to be cut or in the case of chamomile, hand picked. No chemical control.
There have been problems with locks not being locked, gate wires loosened, driving over gates and breaking uprights. Hopefully these problems have been rectified for now, but they should never have happened to start with.
Fencing issues need to be addressed.
Crop loss compensation needs to be addressed.
******* told me he would be looking after the pipeline to assure me all would be done properly. Where was ****** when my fences were cut instead of rolled back?
****** was to contact me before land reclamation to see what need to be. Where was ****** when Octane Energy left my neighbours land and mine in a mess as pictures show?
Talked to ******months ago about fencing, I got my broken gate wires repaired with utility wire and fence tightening was only, wrap the wire further around the posts and re-staple. Where was ****** when this shoddy work was done?
It appears that once Murphy Oil gets their lease they don’t give a damn about the landowner.
Please return pictures.
Note: Did not receive a response to this letter. The lease site was never cleaned, rototilled or seeded as the weed pictures on the homepage will attest to. The pictures were returned seven months later only after I made another request to have them returned.
