Murphy Oil

Latest Update  February  2006. Please check at bottom of page for update links

In 2002 Murphy Oil took over an inactive gas/oil lease on my property. In my 50 plus years I have never experienced such disregard for people or personal property.

The following links are designed to provide a comprehensive view of my experiences with Murphy Oil. Copies of actual correspondence, pictures, comments etc. are posted in the following links.

To provide a quick overview I would suggest starting with letters numbered 9, 10, 11  then refer to the other letters for more details. They are all worth the read.

1 Gates and locks

 7 Redundancy and deception

2 Pipeline Reclamation

 8 Driveway marker

3 Misunderstandings

 9 Do you remember?

4 Request for meeting

10 No attempt at resolution

5 Regression

11 Deceptions and non-truths

6 Outstanding issues

In June of 2005, I wrote a letter to the CEO of Murphy Oil in the United States, the Mother company of Murphy Canada. My letter was never acknowledged. I believe I had better response when I wrote a letter to Santa Claus and then put the letter in the fire so he could read the smoke. This letter contains information not found in the letters to Murphy Canada. Please follow the link to learn more.

Letter to Murphy USA

Coming up.

To help you better understand some of my concerns, I have added a few pictures with descriptions explained below them.

Weed control is part of our contract and very important to the landowner. Do you think Murphy really cares?

At the time of this posting, more than a year later, nothing has been done to control these weeds

Note the undamaged trees on the right side of the picture. The trees to the left were damaged by flaring four years ago. I am claiming seventeen trees damaged. Murphy Oil says that there are only four trees damaged. One of us does not know how to count. These trees are on private property, not on the lease site.

Thank you for visiting this site. I hope I have provided some insight into the real world and not just the "for the camera’s sake" information given to the media.

This web site is still under construction. Please check back for more details and updates over the coming weeks as I continue to build this site and provide a more detailed account of issues facing many of us involved with the oil/gas industry on our lands.
